「世界でいちばんロマンチックな
プロポーズを、日本で叶えたい」
そんなリクエストをいただいたのは、
ヒューストン在住のセレブカップル。
彼が選んだ舞台は、
日本が誇る美の象徴・富士山。
その壮大な自然のふもとで、
サプライズプロポーズを仕掛ける一日。
そんな素敵すぎるプラン。
ふたりは東京・新木場のヘリポートから
空へと飛び立ち、富士山麓を目指します。
空からの景色やその驚きは、
私たちには見えませんでしたが、
事前に聞いていた彼のプランからも、
この空のデートがどれほど
特別な時間になったかは、
想像に難くありません。
そして、富士山麓に到着した
ふたりを迎えたのは、
芝の上に浮かび上がる
「MARRY ME」の花文字。
真紅のバラの花びらを、
ひとつずつフォームに貼りつけ、
上空からも視認できるよう丁寧に配置しました。
その後ヘリが静かに着陸し、
ふたりが降り立ったその瞬間から、
いよいよ本番が始まります。
敷地内には、赤いカーペットが敷かれ、
真っ赤なバラのハートアーチと
キャンドルが揺れるロマンチックなステージ。
彼が差し出したのは、
100本の真紅のバラで束ねた大きな花束。
背後には「Will you marry me？」と
輝くネオンサインが灯り、
ふたりだけの特別な瞬間を祝福していました。
しかし、ヘリが降り立つ「野外」でのプロポーズは、
簡単なことばかりではありませんでした。
富士山麓のこの場所は、
開けた地形でどの方向からも風が吹き込みます。
さらに、ヘリコプターの
離着陸時にはかなりの風圧がかかるため、
装飾が倒れたり飛んでしまうリスクもあります。
アーチやサインなどの設置物は、
すべてペグで地面にしっかり固定。
特にアーチは近くの木々とワイヤーで繋ぎ、
風に揺れても倒れないよう細かく補強しました。
「MARRY ME」の花文字も、
ただ花びらを並べるだけでは飛ばされてしまうため、
フォームに1枚ずつ接着し、
現地で微調整を加えながら丁寧に設置しています。
100本のバラも、前日から保冷し、
直前に花の向きや形を整えて現場で仕上げ。
ネオンサインのバッテリーや角度調整、
足場の安全確認なども含め、
屋外ならではの細かい作業が重なります。
こうした自然環境の中での装飾には、
風・光・地面の傾き・時間の変化といった
「屋内では気づかない要素」が数多くあります。
そのすべてに気を配りながら、
理想の瞬間を実現するというのは、
簡単ではありませんが、
それだけにやりがいのある仕事でもあります。
そしてなにより、彼女が驚き、笑い、涙を
浮かべるその瞬間を目の前で見られたこと。
ふたりが手を取り合い、喜びを噛みしめる姿は、
私たちにとっても忘れられない景色となりました。

A Once-in-a-Lifetime Proposal beneath
Mt. Fuji – A Floral Scene in the Open Air
“We want the most romantic proposal
in the world – and we want it in Japan.”
That was the request we received
from a lovely couple living in Houston, Texas.
The groom-to-be chose the foot of
Mt. Fuji as the backdrop for a surprise proposal.
What began as a quiet daysoon
unfolded into something truly unforgettable.
The bride was unaware of the day’s plan.
Departing from Tokyo’s Shin-Kiba Heliport,
the couple took to the skies, headed toward Mt. Fuji.
We weren’t aboard the flight, of course,
but from what the groom had shared with us in advance,
we can only imagine how meaningful
that aerial journey must have been for both of them.
Upon arrival, they were greeted
by a bold floral message—“MARRY ME”—
spelled out in deep red rose petals
arranged carefully on foam boards
to be seen clearly from above.
As the helicopter landed,
the couple stepped out to find a
breathtaking stage waiting just for them.
A heart-shaped floral arch,
a red carpet, glowing candles,
and at the center—he held out
a bouquet of 100 crimson roses. Behind them,
a soft neon sign glowed with the words
“Will you marry me?”, completing the scene.
Of course, setting up an outdoor proposal at
a helicopter landing site came with unique challenges.
The open terrain at the foot of
Mt. Fuji meant that wind could blow in from
any direction—and the helicopter’s
downdraft only intensified things.
Every piece of décor needed to be securely reinforced.
We used deep stakes to anchor the arch and
added wire supports to nearby trees to ensure stability.
The floral letters were affixed petal
by petal to foam to prevent them from scattering.
The bouquet of 100 roses was pre-cooled and finished
on-site, and we checked every detail—
from signage stability to ground conditions and battery life.
Decorating outdoors means working with nature—wind,
light, uneven ground, and time.
While challenging, it’s this unpredictability
that makes each scene special and deeply rewarding.
The moment she stepped out of the helicopter,
and the two of them locked eyes—it was pure magic.
Seeing her smile, her surprise,
and her tears reminded us why we do this work.
